Hi. I have used this one for 2 months and love it. Had to learn online how to get the best out of a moka pot and also read your blog post. It feels ready to take it camping this summer but what about the soot from wood fires? How do I clean that? Can I use metal scrubbers?
H&T –
Sir, we think using metal scrubbers on painted metal can scratch the surface. Wood fire soot on matt black is harder to see than on other colors although it does show up as different black-grey on top of your matt black. A good way to way to remove is to keep clean between uses so it does not get “re-baked” onto the metal. Once cool, wipe the boiler pot with a soft fabric which has a bit of a texture. Like our diamond waffle. Then use a soap solution (with a non-scratch scrubber or the same fabric dipped in soap) to remove the rest of the soot. Oily wood soot may need more effort. We hope this helps
